Comments:
Arrived at WB9Z around 9am... the driveway had a sheet of ice on it... and
so did all of his antennas.... about 5 to 1 SWR on all the 10, 15 and 20m
antennas. We shook the guys to try and break the ice loose... did manage
to break off quite a bit, but not enough to make a difference. I took all
of my offtime before 2200z.... and spent quite a bit of it shaking the guys
knocking off more ice. It all melted off around 0100z.... after 10 and 15
closed... so low Q & mult totals on the high bands. I missed several easy mults
on all bands (don't we all?)..... but still ended up with a reasonable mult
total. Not a lot of DX mults on this time... only 3 differnt ones worked. On
the upside..... WB9Z's 80 and 160 setup just rocks! And those beverages...
wow! You can tune up a can of Miller Lite in ME and he'll be able to hear you!
Truly amazing.... but I'd rather have the 10m and 15m that the west coast guys
have.
AD1C's PASS program says I had 166 passes within 1 minute and 193 wihtin 3
minutes... neat little program... thanks Jim! TR says 460 band changes... and
250 second radio Qs. I'd imagine it's a bit closer to 300.
N6NF..... wow!
Thanks to Jerry and Lori... you guys are the best! See you in the sprints!
