Comments:
This was the first contest I have done since W6KP sold his contest station. I
am definately going to miss operating from up there. Its gonna be hard to get
used to operating from an average station again. I just want to thank Tom for
putting up with me for the last 4 years.
I didnt have a place to operate from, so I decided to see how the home station
would play. The 10/15/80m antennas havent been used in years, so I had no idea
if they even still worked. Well, they work, but there is some terrible line
noise on all bands that was a steady s5 most of the time on 10/15, and s7+ on
20-160. Sorry if I was an alligator. 80m was especially painful..most people
just CQed in my face. I spent the last 3 hours of the contest S&Ping on 80m,
and could only muster 21 mults. I dont have a 160m antenna, so i was only able
to work CA and XE on 160 using the 80m sloper.
Congrats to all the big scorers out there!!
73, Dan N6MJ
