Comments:

Friday: Wasn't feeling very good as the contest started - I had a bad case of
the flu and it seemed to be peaking right as the contest was getting under way.
Not much was happening on the higher bands so I got started on 40m and picked up
quite a few multipliers even though signal levels seemed very low. After two
and a half hours I did a quick scan of 20m to pick up some multipliers and then
moved to 80m. Conditions on 80m were good and the band was jammed with strong
signals from Europe. I stayed on 80m for two hours and then moved to 160m where
signals from Europe were also strong and plentiful. After a half an hour on
160m the flu was taking the upper hand (I felt like I had already been up for 48
hours) so I called it a day.

Saturday: Got started late but I was feeling much better. Nothing on 10m but
15m was going strong - it was nice seeing the ?rate-meter? stay around 120?150
for over two hours. After three and a half hours I scanned 10m for multipliers
(no Europeans heard) and then settled in on 20m. Conditions on 20m were also
good and I kept up a long run with rates not quite what they had been on 15m.
Then I did some band scans for multipliers and then took a break for dinner.
When I got back around 2200Z there was a good opening to JA under way and I put
more than 80 in the log in the next hour or so. During this time I also got
calls from HL, HS, KG6, VR2, and 9V. By this time the flu had started to take
control again so I did some short stints on 40 through 160 before ending things
for the day.

Sunday: Didn?t put in much time but I still managed to get in a total of 22
hours. Spent much of Sunday on 15m before moving to 20m because I when I saw my
QSO count there needed a boost.

Even though my totals were down from last year I had a good time. To console
myself I defined a couple of new personal records: QSOs on a single band (704)
and multipliers on a single band (78). My best responses during CQs were A45WD
on 15m, SU9NC on 20m, and the other Asian stations noted above.
