Comments:
Thanks to everyone who called. I had hoped to arrange my affairs so that I
could be in Saskatchewan and operate the RAC contest from my cottage on Candle
Lake as VE5KO. With the kids still in school, it didn't work out. I still had
fun playing radio from home for a bit.
Since next years RAC Winter contest falls at the end of December, things are
looking more possible for a serious effort from VE5KO. I have the summer to put
up some beams and prepare things for a 4-square on 40 and 80m out on small
island about 100 ft. from shore from my cottage. I can even string coax and get
the radials ready. Big plans, . . . . I thought of them while I was sitting in
the hammock with a brew-ski day-dreaming last summer! Never got to doing it
though. I did haul the tower sections from Calgary to the lake, just need one
more section of tower and to pick up the TH3 and put it up.
