Surprised to have the openings on 15 and 10. It probably messed me up; I was
working people on the high bands and so just kept operating instead of taking
any breaks during the day. It left me with not as much time on the low bands
later, probably lowered my QSO total overall and cost me some mults.
Forty meters was good, but 80 was very noisy here and I had trouble getting
people to hear me. I tried 160 several times in my last hour, but it was still
too early and I never heard anyone there. My sloper antenna was pretty much
dead in the water for some reason; it was loading OK but didn't seem to be
putting out any signal, stations that were relatively loud didn't hear me at
all. I wound up using exclusively the G5RV on the low bands.
I got excited when I heard KL7GLL on 80 meters at the end, but he was in
VA...:-)
