Comments:
Put in a lot more chair time this year. Had a goal of at least 1000 points and
200 plus Q's. I'm sure I missed some callers due to high noise level for about
2/3 of the time I was active. Noise really got loud for about an hour before
and after the cold front went through here near Chicago. Had a constant S5
noise floor throughout the test, raising to S9 for long bursts at a time.
I was amazed at the signal from K7RAT. Every time I went by his calling freq.
never mind the time of evening or morning, there he was, sometimes S9 plus 10!
Well, I hope the log checker is kind to me this year, and there aren't too many
deductions, and I hope I worked a lot of QRP to boost the score!!!
CU next year. 73 Gene N9TF
Station conditions: TS-2000 100 watts to a Alpha-Delta DX-LB shortened
dipole(100 feet total), up at a nose bleeding 35 foot Apex. It warms the clouds
above my house, and my roof too!
