Station: K3, Alpha 91b, shunt fed tower, beverages
Never intended to participate much. Only on for 2 hours Friday but high rates
(being fresh meat helped!). Saturday conditions seemed to start good, then drop
to nothing around 6pm local, then pick back up with good rates. Never could find
a "clear" spot below 1900 so spent almost all my time at 1911 and up. Some VERY
loud DX called in: RW2F, UU7J both stand out. Thanks to the many other DX and
west coast stations that stayed with me to complete the Q. All in all a fun
contest.
Have to say too that he K3 really worked well. Even narrowing the bandwidth
down to 1.8khz signals were easy to understand. And unlike the CW contests most
everyone called on frequency.
