Equipment:
IC-706MKIIG 100W on 6, 50W on 2 and 20W on 432
Antennas: 5 Element KLM on 6 at 35 feet, 4 element on 2 at 38 feet. Used the 2
meter beam on 432.
Fun contest and first time on 2 meters and 432 for a contest. For a while on
Saturday until the band really opened, I had more countries than I had states -
W, VE, KH6 and XE while I only had worked AZ, CA and KH6. Cndx on 6 on Sunday
were spotty and disappointing. Worked a lot of new grids on 6 and 2 including a
bunch of hard to get Arizona grids. Plan to have a real antenna for 432 next
time and a much bigger yagi for 2. Despite only 4 elements on 2, I did work
quite a few California stations. Thanks to everyone for the QSO's.
73,
Dave N7RK
