To misquote most interesting man in the world, "I don't always work phone, but
when I do I prefer CW."
Actually, I had quite a lot of fun with the microphone sticking out of the
headset. No rate to speak of, and conditions were quite poor (especially on
15M, which was a real disappointment), but the late afternoon saw 20M in pretty
good shape.
Figured I'd get more activity on 40M than I did. That has been a strong band
from here lately, but not this weekend. Quite a bit of noise and signals just
weren't very strong.
Fired up the 80M vertical array through a tuner for 75M. No gain up there but
nabbed four sections. Weren't many heard through the noise. Still have to fix
the Beverage transformer I altered with RF a couple weeks ago.
Didn't fill in all six of my final SSB triple play slots.... did work several
SC and a couple of WY, and at least one ME and one NE. Still looking for DE and
ND. There's always next time.
