More part time than I wanted, but still very happy with the result. Weather
decided not to cooperate on Friday just before the start and dumped 5" of snow
on us. Not unexpected in AK, but the timing sucked. Spent several hours Fri.
evening and Sat. morning in the truck plowing snow. Sun. was non-existent due
to a previous family commitment.
On the bright side a low A index throughout the contest made 40M, 80M and even
160M very quiet and some DX into EU was actually possible. More zones and
country mults on 40M than 20M! I don't think that has ever happened to me!
Best run was on Sat. starting at 2238 UTC - did 100 Q's in 57 mins. That has
to be a new record for me on CW!
Only my second CQWW CW contest ever. Made 80% more Q's, 22% more zones and 21%
more countries than last year. Score more than doubled from 86,151 last year to
175,617 this year. This is getting to be fun!
