Comments:
I think SS Phone is a lot more fun when you don't take it too seriously! My
original goal was to operate hot & heavy until getting a sweep, and then quit.
I got the sweep (VE2AWR - thanks!) at 1300Z on my QSO number 838. The rate was
pretty good around then, so I decided to go for 1000 Q's. When I reached 1000,
the rate was still good, so I decided to go for 200K points, to help the Arizona
Outlaws club score.
The 16 hours op time was computed by N1MM, but there were a lot of mini-breaks
of less than 30 minutes in there. If the rate fell, or if I got knocked off a
run frequency, I would just walk away for a while. This semi-serious approach
was a lot better for me than grinding out those last 8 hours at low rate, just
to rank better in the standings.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and thanks for the QSO's.
