This continues to be one of the RTTY contests I very much look forward to each
year -- I loved ANARTS and hope the Long Distance Challenge grows and prospers
on the contest calendar. Thank you DRCG! The distance-based points formula
works well for us out in the west.
A cavalcade of ceremonies and events surrounding our oldest kid's high school
graduation cut short the time spent in LDC this year. Bands were in lousy
condition anyway. This is the worst attempt since... well, ever. Hope for much
better propagation and more time next year.
Found VK and ZL for Oceania on 20M Friday night. Looked for AF and SA, but none
heard at the times I was on. Did land JA1 on 20M at dawn Sunday for the fourth
continent, then found a handful of JAs, ZM2B and DV1 on 40M a few minutes
later, but not much on that band after daybreak.
Ran low power except for Sunday morning. Glad to get on to share the VE7 mult.
