* 40M -- SteppIR dipole at 27'
* 80M -- twin vertical array E-W
As many have said, conditions were poor (but better than they were for RAC
Canada Day Contest on Friday). Off-continent 15-point Qs were almost halved
from last year (40 vs 78). Aurora was only 3, but the polar path to Europe was
very poor.
Ended up with 8 hours in the chair, but it felt like a lot more time. Managed
only 7 Qs in the final two hours (which are 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. local).
80M could be such a great source of W/VE mults, but I didn't hear any activity
there at all. Was surprised by the mults found on 15M, without any European
opening.
