Comments:
It is great to have contacts with so many regular rtty contesters. Last year my
station was ruined by lightning 2 weeks before the contest so I was not able to
participate. This year I had a great time running a new FTDX-5000 radio and a
new 3 element 40 meter vertical array. I was pleased with the performance of
both. I probably should of spent more time than I did on 20 meters to pick up a
few more multipliers but 15 and 10 meters was to hard to resist. I was able to
stay up all but 2 hours Friday night even after working all day. It hit me hard
about 9PM Saturday night local time and had to get some sleep. Propagation and
activity level were both very good this year. This was a great start for this
yearâ??s contest season.
