Comments:
Well, my first SOAB in CQWW. Was targeting to compete for a new ES record set
last year from ES5TV qth. Though cannot compare to Tõnno's extensive antenna
farm, but with propagation appropriate to this time of the solar cycle I might
have had a chance. However, this was not going happen. Things looked nice until
Sunday morning when one had to move from low to high bands. From now on it was a
struggle. I was more concentrated to 15 meters on Saturday producing some nice
hours of 200+ q rates and was expecting the same for 10 meters on Sunday. When
10 ja 15 closed within some 15 minutes after my sunset on Sunday it was obvious
that the score will medicore at the best.
Seems like not a record setting this year. Several serious contest activities
one is used to were missing this year: HB0, T7, 4U, JW, OY, SV9 to name a few
from Europe. What happened to Africa?! Zones 34, 36, 37, 39 did not make way
into my log at all. I knew that ZD8O had to be on, but simply didn't hear him.
Thanks for the q's and perhaps cu you next year.
73, Rein ES5RW
