Comments:
Sprint is fun, but after the first hour, I really lost my
concentration. When I arrived at the station Thursday, the
computer wouldn't boot. Friday I was busy with a plumber
fixing a problem, so Saturday morning I finally figured part
of the power supply was bad. No time to take a ferry ride
back to the mainland for a replacement, so I patched in a
wall-wart to the bad low voltage line, and pulled out all
the extra PCI cards to reduce the load. I could get booted,
and it would run for a hour or so before freezing up and
needing to reboot. Amazingly, it made it through the sprint
with only one reboot. Having missed my Thursday practice in
the NCCC Sprint, I was fumbling for the knobs and buttons.
Surpisingly, I pretty much matched my score from last year.
With a new computer, practice, and less distraction, I might
even improve next time!
