Comments:

That was A LOT of fun. Conditions were pretty darned good but
typical summertime conditions already. 20 open through the
night and getting hit hard by absorption by 10am. 10M only
E-Skip to Europe. 40M was adversely affected up here by the
geomagnetic storm of the day before - but got better on Saturday.

This contest was never going to be my best effort. I was in
Europe for 2 weeks before arriving Thursday in Boston and then a
full slate of college graduation activities with a plan to get
to the shack a couple of hours before the contest. Actually,
with Memorial Day traffic - it was 8:20pm before I could sit
down at the radio - and 40M was of course already "rockin".

On top of that my 40 and 10M rotor acted up right before I left
for Europe. I climbed the tower the evening before leaving
and fixed it NE. I was unable to turn the beam for 40 all
weekend. Other than that, everything was working.

So with those 2 issues, I was not "in the zone" from the
start and faded fast Friday night. I knew I should stay up
right through 14Z before taking off time, but was just not able.
I lost 2 1/2 hours of prime 40M run time as a result. Decided
to make ths one a fun one rather than struggle through the
next night as well.

Still, my second best all time score and I know that I will
be wishing for conditions like these in just a year or two.
I never even worked W3EF and only worked N5AW once. Marv
was up on me by about 150 Qs when we did. I knew that I had
great EU content and despite missing probably 100 or more 6
pointers that I should have had, I still ended the contest
with a 3.02 point average vs 3.14 in my 2012 highest year.

Great Asia openings on 15M and some 20M. Decent but not great
JA runs for a couple of hours. South America activity seemed to
be down. EU was in force big time. And the NA activity is
usally slower on this one vs SSB because of the holiday weekend.

All and all, a great contest and loads of fun.

I will be at WRTC and looking to meet all of you going.
