Comments:
Finally! This time I came "ready for a fight" and found the best
propagation on a contest weekend in my short (ten years of contesting) memory.
QRN levels were especially low here, too, except for a couple of brief periods.
My vertical triband dipole did the bulk of the work as I spent most of the time
on 10 and 15 meters where propagation was as good or better than any I've seen
before. It was a blast!
Thanks to all who stuck with me, asking for repeats as needed. I doubt I can
top this score, but I'll be looking for your help trying next time, and I hope
I contributed to a personal best for you, or at least some fun. 73 de kt8k -

rig: Tentec Orion, MFJ Grandmaster keyer, N1MM software running on ancient XP
laptop
antennas:
- Cushcraft A3 tribander driven element hung vertically in a tree about 55 feet
up at the feed point
- 20/40/80 inverted vee used mostly on 40 and 80 this time
- 500 foot horizontal loop zigzagging through the tree branches, fed with TV
twin lead by an LDG Z-11 autotuner
- I also listened for a bit on my home-brew K9AY loop, but I am not convinced
it is reducing noise any. (probably my shoddy construction practices - nothing
is so permanent as a temporary solution that works, or appears to ... ).
May Murphy be with your enemies.
