Comments:
A half-effort, starting at 3:30 PM Saturday afternoon. High power, assisted.
Yes, conditions were pretty poor. I spent about five hours making those 108 Qs
on 20M, the one guy I heard on 160 could not hear me.
A rather annoying thing Saturday night our time was that a dozen or so JAs not
in the contest, calling CQ for JCCC, or whatever that is. Skimmer spotted them,
so when you try to S&P them, you've wasted a bunch of time to figure each
one out. I was calling CQ JA, and got a half dozen replies from guys who
weren't in the contest, and had no clue about a prefecture number.
Why do these guys send /QRP in a contest? It's hard enough to copy them when
they're weak, and adding /QRP when we're struggling to even get their call is
wildly counterproductive! I often run QRP for contests for which I'm not
competitive, and I wouldn't think of doing that!
