Comments:
Rob N7QT and I ran 1B2 from Table Mountain in Kittitas County. Our goal this
year was to be competitive. Last year, we put together 823 QSO's and a score
of 3642, good enough for 4th place nationwide. This year, the plan was to keep
the radio running. We did: making 1121 contacts for a score of 4600. The
Elecraft K3 and Honda EU2000 both ran flawlessly. For antennas we had an
extended CrankIR with two elevated radials for 80 meters, and, on 40 meters a
full size, quarter wave, vertical with four elevated radials. The 40 meter
vertical worked as well as last year's half square, but was a lot easier to put
up. For 20 thru 10 we used a two element tribander on a 28 ft tower. All
antennas edged up against cliff side, giving us an effective antenna height of
3000 feet or so. Conditions were hot, dusty, and buggy. What's not to like?
We had a Great time. --- Brian N7RVD
