Comments:
1. Best news of all: Major thunder storms were predicted - a REAL problem when
at 2500' elevation (a serious east coast height) with multiple 100' towers -
but they did NOT arrive.
2. Hence, good time was had by all.
3. 6 Meter laments:
a) Being called by an EA8 in IL18, and it's NOT a new grid multiplier! :-)
b) Seeing a ~400 mile away grid being passed through 144/220/432 but not
copyable on 50; this happened several times. Examples of the negative
"donut" on 6 meters: Stations in the ~300 - 500 mile range are often
harder to work than those beyond that distance.
4. 2 meter lament: When 6 meters is wide open, 2 meters is DEAD.
5. 220 and 432 operators did their usual great job.
5. Did have some very short bursts of 120 - 180 qsos/hour running on 6; but
should have done a little more S&P for additional grids.
