--NEW PERSONAL RECORD--
...But not a good one ! Lowest score since I moved to New Mexico in 2003.
Previous low score was 2,813,217 in 2007. Hard to believe it was only 3 years
ago that I scored over 7.7M !
No opportunities to run Europe on any band, at any time. Even JA runs were
unusually limited. Who stole 40 meters to JA the second night ? Once it was
clear that neither 20 nor 15 were going to open to Europe on Saturday morning,
I had to do a major mental adjustment to stay in the game. Just treated this
more like a VHF contest, and had fun "filling in the boxes" by
working as many of the Caribbean, Central American and South American folks on
as many bands as I could.
A few selected stats: Zone 16 - 5 QSO's. Zone 20 - 3 QSO's. Zone 19 - 4 QSO's.
Zones 17, 18, 22, 23, 26, 34, 37 were completely missing. Total Europe - 153
(1/3 of those were Spain). Never heard SM, LA, ES, LY, YL. 3 G's - and those
were on 80 and 40 meters. Was thrilled to work DL2ARD on backscatter on 15 for
my only DL on that band, out of 11 total DL's.
Still, it was fun.
73,
Steve, N2IC
