Comments:
At the start of the contest we were about 50 miles off the East Coast aboard
Anthem of the Seas on a family cruise while the grandkids were off from school.
I arranged to get off the ship as early as possible and began our 3 hour drive
home Sunday morning at 7AM. On the air at 10AM, after making great time in
light traffic.
Right off the bat I had a minor problem...I couldn't hardly send CW and
wondered what was going on. I just now determined (Monday afternoon)that the
lithium battery powering my outboard Logikeyer had finally given up the ghost
after at least 5 years! I was able to send, but the timing was way off so I
used the keyboard more than ever. JACK W1WEF
I started with a couple good hours, but by the third hour it slowed and my
hopes of hundred hours for the rest of the time fizzled out. I never felt very
loud, especially before and after our sunset on 80 and 160. I heard plenty of
Eu stations, but they didn't hear me...too early. Glad I got to do a little
of it anyway. Best DX was 9M2 on 40. JACK W1WEF
