Comments:
There was a lot of discussion about unusual exchanges
sent by DX statons. I logged what was sent, converting
cut numbers to the genuine article. I assume the log
checkers will handle things properly. After all, they
know a thing or two because they've seen a thing or two.
I even logged PV8ADI's RR Brazilian state.
The most interesting exchange to me was OK3RM's
599 1500. This is probably the most common meaning of
"K". Certainly many USA licensed kilowatt stations, KP4,
KP2, KH6, KL7, are running the full 1500w.
As for V43Z, his 599 TTT probably meant one KW or its
nth multiple. Likely he was just trying to stand out
in the crowd. When I heard him, he was sending upwards
of 40 wpm, pretty fast for that call.
I used the Russian scoreboard @30 minute intervals.
It was fun to check the standings, but also distracting.
It was a good contest but one I don't ordinarily enter.
My friend WN4AFP jumped in so I did too. Monkey see,
monkey do.
