Comments:
Hi to all Contest friends!
Many thanks to all who gave us a call.
We started the contest as a M/2 entry, but after the first night on the
low bands we changed to M/M.
There was a big storm passing by I think and that made the low bands
horrible for us. The only band we could realy run at night was 40m.
160/80 had realy heavy QRN from that storm passing by. It was like a big QRN
generator.
Never experienced it that bad from PJ2T.
So the 2nd day we decided to switch to M/M so that we could run at least 3
stations
during daytime and to maximize the fun for us all and give out the PJ2 mult
to as many as possible.
Of cause we knew that we can't compete to other M/M from north AF or other big
M/M first class stations, but we wanted to have fun and so we had a lot of fun.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to Uli, DL8OBQ who set up the station before the
contest. He did a lot of work to get the station playing before the contest.
Thank you Uli for doing so!!!
It was realy nice to meet new people @PJ2T.
Stephano, PT2IC took a dificult trip to Curacao to join the team.
He missed one connection flight in HK land and so had to stay there one more
night and came over to CUR one day late.
Stephano showed up at the station when contest already had begun, but after
a small briefing he was ready to go too.
We had a nice USA/GER/BRA team and the friendship we made is priceless.
A big thank you also goes to the CCC, Caribbean Contesting
Consortium who let us operate the PJ2T station. Especialy I want to say thank
you Jeff, W0CG who put in lots of time and energy to keep PJ2T alive and gave
us
many support even he was not with us at the station this time.
We missed you Jeff...
Again many thanks to all who QSOed with us in the contest and also outside of
the contest, where we had the honor to operate the PJ2T call also the 1st time,
because the PJ2T is now a permanent (club)call to the station.
We hope everyone had as much fun as we had and congratulations to all the
big scores out there!
On behalf of the 2017 CQWW-SSB team of PJ2T
Heiko (Bud), DK3DM
