Comments:
This was the first contest with new installed antenna - multibander AD-3446.
I spent many hours by preparing, planning, mounting, climbing, testing and also
repairing of everything, what was necessary to have new antenna in the air.
Fortunately, on Friday afternoon just before contest Mr. Murphy was too tired
and he gave up to bother me. I found the place of corroded coaxial connector -
the reason of random occured SWR problem. Just after one day replacing of the
most suspicious coaxial cable of the lenght of the whole tower...
The contest was without any serious hardware problem. This year with realy good
low band propagation. I was able to run long pileups on any low band during all
three nights. Long time averages between 120-180 QSOs/h was standard, very
often over 200 QSOs/h.
High bands was three different cups of coffee. 20m as major band with few short
NA pileups, 15m especially to S/P for mults and 10m to dig out some mults during
short openings. Surprisely, I didn't have serious problems neither with
frequency intruders, nor with QRM from bad quality signals.
In general, my feeling of new antenna is quite fine, especialy 3 elements on
40m are other kind of operating. Also 10m mults are result of new 6 elements.
Thanks to participants, long low bands pileups was very often big fun!
