Comments:
Collapsed 30 m rotary tower dismantled yesterday with two huge cranes reaching
in from the roadside... CWT was quite an adventure: used the old sections of the
tower laying on the ground as a counterpoise for a skew vertical made of 45 mm
Alu-tube (full 6 m new stock) against a tree... Got it ready 1 minute before the
1300Z happening... Highlight was working 6 USA stations on 14 MHz right through
the building (luckily wood)... Checked 7 MHz, and had a 1 : 1 match with the
tuner, but not even one CWT signal heard (neither on 3.5 MHz)... Cheers/73, Zaba
