Comments:
Friday evening was very busy with 318 EU stations worked, but there was
substantial QSB on many signals. Regular fills were required. Worked a total
of 331 10-point contacts the first night, with 4 JA's in the log Saturday
morning. I hoped for more stable signals the second night.
Saturday afternoon brought a decent EU mini-run at my sunset but after that
conditions were unfavorable to EU. I eventually gave up CQing and ran down the
band searching and pouncing EU stations. As I did this, I could almost hear
their surprise. The second night gave me an additional 106 EU contacts. The
shoe was definitely on the other foot in this affair.
I managed to work 5 more EU's just before the end of the contest on Sunday
afternoon, all by S&P.
Did not work VK, ZL, KL7, VO2 or VY1. My best DX was the 4X4.
It was a bummer having tougher conditions down here, but Virginia beat Duke at
Cameron on Saturday so, all in all, it was a great weekend!
Many thanks to all for the QSO's.
73,
Peter K3ZM
