Comments:
After a couple of sprints with very poor mults I really overcompensated in this
one and may have ended up with the overall high mult count. It's totally blind
luck but once I realized that I had a new mult I did my best to make sure I
copied the exchange correctly. I heard VE7DDG calling CQ BCQP but didn't call
for a possible 50th mult.
I resisted the urge to put a radio on 40 early when 20 seemed really punk,
realizing that maximizing Qs on 20 would be better in the long run since there
would be plenty of time for 40 and 80 later. Finally at 0044 I started making Qs
on 40 but still made a few more second radio Qs on 20 until 0055.
My main goal was to try to break 300 Qs which will hopefully withstand log
checking.
Thanks to Ron, N6EE, for all of the repeats for the ME mult on 80. I heard Ron
clearly when I called him but then he kept getting covered up by key clicks.
I thought that W4EF was calling me on 40, really weak, and I was about to give
up when I realized it was W4ER. His signal came up slightly and I heard AL so I
spent a couple minutes getting the rest of the exchange for the mult.
In the last few minutes of the contest I found NE, had WY call me, and had a
questionable QSO with KA5VZE in OK who sent a 4-digit number. Not sure what the
number means but he sent it two more times when I asked for a repeat so that's
what I logged.
