Flex 3000, 3 el Steppir @ 55ft, 40m inverted vee, N1MM+
We decided to do a club effort from our club station (http://w5gad.org/) with
the main objective being to work the WRTC stations since one of our club members
(KG5HVO) was on a WRTC Team. Up until about 5:45pm CDT we were disappointed
since we had not even heard a single Y8 station. Then, in a matter of about an
hour, we had worked 20 of the WRTC teams, all on 20m CW. Once the WRTC stations
started coming in they had excellent signals and most noticeably worked us on
our first call, no questions asked of our limited exposure call sign -- guess
good ears are one of the qualifications.
It was fun and a good way to introduce contesting to several of our club members
who have not done a lot of contesting beyond Field Days.
