Comments:
Condx were so much better than they were on Field Day! 20 meters was still open
and full of signals from Europe, Asia, and NA when we decided at 11:30 pm local
it was time to go check on 40. The auroral flutter was markedly lower than
normal. Hardly any on the Scandinavians, and for once we could copy Russia and
Ukraine without struggling.
The Tualatin Valley Contesters is a dual personality club. We like to score as
high as we can (ahem, #1 M/S LP USA in the 2017 ARRL 10), but part of our
mission is to improve our contesting skills and bring newer ops into the fold.
This was a great training event and we're pleased that several less experienced
contesters are now much better than they were a day ago.
Our total haul included 64 countries and 35 zones. We were only able to work
four of the Y8 WRTC stations, a couple around 1700Z and another pair around
0600, all on 20 m.
73 and thanks for a great time,
W7TVC
Equipment: K-line, DB-18 up 20 m for 15-40, HF-2V for 80.
