Comments:
Mostly S&P looking for WRTC contestants and new countries, plus a few short
Runs. About a dozen Y8 stns finally showed up here on 20 meters, most all in
the 2300Z hour Saturday evening. Snagged most of them but all were about 569.
And then they all disappeared. Am guessing many of the superb ops competing from
DL land got a bit frustrated not being heard very well across the pond with only
100 w and modest skyhooks.
At this stage of the cycle, it was nice to have 20m stay open to much of the
world all day and night except for a few hours before SR. Even 15 opened to EU
for a few Qs and 40 produced much better than last year. 80 was excellent across
the US and served up a few SA and Pacific Qs but not much on 160 with the summer
QRN. Still a bit puzzling why quite a few strong DX sigs seem to not hear very
well and can't connect when many of their neighbors answer us right away.
73, Tom
