Comments:

I live in an urban ditch. My station is in my Jeep and go to mountain tops for
VHF/UHF contesting. Used this as a chance to check out my station in
preparation for September. It poured rain Saturday and was a great opportunity
to test out the new generator power system and look for leaks in the roof where
the mast comes down to the armstrong rotator.

After a quick 2 band Q with W3IP (thank you) I did a couple of FM simplex Q's
and heard nothing but QRM and W3IP. After a couple hours of QRM I dug out my
dads old straight key and got on the air for the first time using CW. Despite
not hearing or seeing any signals on the waterfall I did get a response...the
XYL, not the Q I was looking for. I was "buzzing" the TV, she
recognized my call from all the practice oscillator work. I gave up around
midnight and only worked Saturday. Honey Do's on Sunday.

No leaks, the generator was perfect and my CW, while not very good is at least
readable. It was a great day and great fun.
