Comments:
The new and improved MDCQP was on the air! Made more contacts this year than my
3 previous years thanks to the mobile ops. The mobiles made this one
interesting. Contacts included W4GO/m 16, K0BAK 3 and N3ADF 2. I ran along with
Matt W4GO for hours on 40m and 80m. He had an amazing mobile signal. I did find
W3VPR near the end on 40m. 20m didn't work well for me, so I had to rely on 40m
and an extremely noisy 80m. This a 'phone' contest...how do we increase CW
activity? The change from two-day to a one-day contest was a good one. Thanks to
all the MDC ops who pulled my 80w IC-751 with wires signal out of the noise.
