This was my best September VHF contest so far with 15k more points than my
previous best. We had some great rover activity throughout Minnesota. I was able
to complete a clean sweep with Wyatt (AC0RA/R) in all of his grids (13) on the
four bottom bands (52 QSOs) which accounted for several all-time new grids on
222 and 432. KC0P/R-N0HZO/R and KC0SKM/R also accounted for many QSOs. Rover
QSOs made up 44% of my log. I picked up a couple all-time new grids on 2m and
one on 6m with VE3RX in EN96. Once again, my spread 6m stack of 4 element yagis
out performed my single higher 7 element on meteor scatter and MSK144 activity
was outstanding! My best DX on the bands were: 6m-N5WS (MS-1140 miles), 2m-KB8U
(Tropo-394 miles), 222-W0LGQ (Tropo-327 miles), 432-K2YAZ (Tropo-313 miles), and
902-K2YAZ (Tropo-313 miles).
73,
Justin, K9MU – EN44
