With the last hurricane that came through the winds took down several trees and
of course one would destroy my 160 Inverted L. In the last week or so I started
working to replace the L but at a different location. Using my air gun to shoot
a couple lines over some tall trees I had the inverted L ready to test on
Thursday. WOW never had to change a thing! SWR was good and I worked several
stations around the US and EU along with South America so it seemed to play.
Short time in the contest with having to work Saturday I couldn't put in much of
a effort. It was a lot of fun working my friends and meeting new ones that
started to fill the log. Now with a new TX antenna I'm going to have to start
repairing the beverages. Noise was a true factor this weekend and at times the
band seemed really strange.
Worked everything I heard in the US except for EWA. Several EU stations but QRN
was to high. On to CQ160 and hopefully have some RX antennas.
Thanks for contacts it was my biggest effort in awhile from home. Very rusty to
say the least but happy with my time spent.
