Comments:
Well, today was a somewhat disastrous experiment. I tried calling CQ instead of
S&P. I went 20 minutes without anyone responding. I began to wonder if I was
getting a signal out, so I spent a little time and called someone, successfully.
My radio was working. Finally, I got a couple of calls toward the end of the
contest.
I'm not sure why the experiment was so unsuccessful. Maybe my slow sending made
it sound like I wasn't in the contest. I set my keyer at 15 wpm to begin with
and then went to 17 wpm. Maybe next time I will split the hour between S&P
and running. Tnx very much for the three Qs, guys. They were DEFINITELY
appreciated, like gulps of water in the dry desert!
