Comments:
I really enjoyed the contest. Good band conditions and lots of activity despite
having two set backs that took some of my enthusiasm. First one was right at
the start of the contest. Fifteen minutes in I blew a fuse (that had never
blown before) that powered half of my antenna switches and my SO2R box and that
took me about ten minutes to diagnose figuring out where it was located. I
asked myself should I take a 30 minute break now or what. Conditions were so
good and I walked around the house and mentioned it to my wife and she said it
was only 10 minutes go operate. Then about four hours later I hear a car and a
banging at the door and it is my daughter-in-law who says my son needs tools to
fix a generator right now for their restaurant's food truck that is at the Gen
Con thing. Another 15 minutes shot. Again my wife sort of encouraged me to get
back on-I guess the day was shot anyway. I'm a little OCD and if things are not
100% I do find it hard to keep up the motivation. In other words I don't roll
with the punches (Murphy) very well.
