This was my first experience on 10 GHz and not only was it fun but I made VUCC
during the contest. Thanks to all those who helped me get up and running on 10
GHz, particularly Dave, K1RZ. I operated from an overlook entrance on the
Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay in FM17uw. I had nothing but water in the
directions I was able to work. The closest land I could see was in Maryland at
Point Lookout. The rest was pretty much a straight up the Bay. My best distance
was with K1OR in FN42wb at 698 km.
I was running a Yaesu FT-100 as an IF to a Demi, 3 watt transverter using a
Downeast Microwave 3 foot dish.
