Excellent contest, seems to get better every year.. Participation great, band
conditions good, for the bands that were open.
I have a lot of station work to do, but it was still worth it, lots of friends
from CW and SSB, along with RTTY! Good times.
One interesting thing that came up during the contest, on 40m, my daughter yells
at me from upstairs that she smells weak scent of gas, turns out I was getting
into the fireplace controller, and it was modulating the gas valve, so shut off
the gas, disconnected controller, and all was good.. Didn't want to end up in
toothpicks after a gas explosion!! First time ever for that.
Sure need SO2R for this and most contests, I'm not set up at home yet antenna
wise or radio wise.. But working that way.
