Comments:
This contest has essentially become an FT8 contest, at least on 6 meters.
Perhaps this is the best of all possible uses of FT8, given its weak-signal
capability. I did try to find SSB and CW signals on 6 meters but just heard
hissing, so I hung around on the FT8 frequency of 50.313 and eventually
collected 62 QSOs over 5.5 hours Sunday; Saturday was NAQP for me.
With a Yagi at 20’ stuck on northeast and my transceiver only pumping out 70
watts, most of my QSOs were from the Mid-Atlantic region. Here’s how they
distributed on a per-grid basis:
EN43 1
FM09 1
FM18 11
FM19 19
FM29 7
FN00 1
FN10 4
FN20 14
FN21 3
FN31 1
Total 62
