Comments:

Pretty typical January contest from the Intermountian West. I worked hard for
most all of those 67 Qs. All the rovers were south in warmer climates, no
locals, no tropo, no nothin'. Nobody on in the Denver area (more action toward
Salt Lake then DEN) and I still haven't figured out the path (if it exists) to
Phoenix. The New Mexico VHF Society guys came through, as always - thanks !

Highlights were a nice, easy Q on 222 M/S with K5QE and a lot of challenging,
weak scatter to the south and southwest on 6 & 2 which kept it interesting
and had me in the chair for longer then I really wanted.

Meteor scatter was so-so. CQing on 6M MSK144 raised a lot of flags on PSK
Reporter, but nobody called, so I guess a lot of that is just unattended
monitoring, which really doesn't do much good. Yes, I KNOW I have a M/S range
of 1100 miles on 6 - thanks for the "spot", but a contest Q would be
better. As always, FT8 on 6M is a bad joke without Es, which is when you don't
NEED it. Even being so-so, meteor scatter ruled the weekend on 6 ! FT8 does
have benefits on 2M and above.

Equipment:

6 - 7el @ 40', 7el @ 70', fixed 5el @ 25' pointing 300 deg; 1000W
2 - 5WL beam at 45'; 600W
222 - 5WL beam at 75'; 500W
432 - 9WL beam at 80'; 1000W
