Wow! There was non stop activity in this one. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay
focused. If QPs were football games, I'd call this one a "trap game"
for me. It falls right between my own state QP, which I put in a full effort,
and next weeks "plethora" of QPs. So the one in the middle is usually
called a trap game, because some teams can't keep there focus. That describes
my effort in this one. I fell just short of 300 Q's, but had a lot of fun. I
guess I learned that I should thoroughly read the rules, because I had no idea
that "fixed" stations could give their QTH in multiple counties, even
though mobile operation was a no-no. So I must have missed that in my scan of
the rules. It took me a while to figure out that these fixed FL stations were
giving out "extra" Q's from different counties. Pretty clever idea
for the COVID restrictions, but a bit confusing, at least at the "get
go". I'm sure it lead to a lot more Q's and a "simulation" of
mobile operations. Last year I ran LP SSB only, in an effort to get a plaque,
and indeed it was a very nice one. But, with the QP Challenge going on, I just
wanted to maximizes my Q's and went mixed HP. But didn't put in a full time
effort, especially when Sunday rolled around and the weather in Michigan was
nice for once, allowing me to do some antenna work outdoors. Thanks for putting
on a great QSO Party!
