Comments:
Once again the atmosphere at W3SO was not the same without Marty W3YOZ SK. No
one to look over our shoulders and remind us to do this and don't do that, or to
give that Marty smile, clap of the hands and big HaHa when we nailed a sought
after grid.
Miss you Marty W3YOZ
Once again I would have to say that I dislike FT8/FT4 in the contest, unless
maybe its fenced in somehow. Maybe held to late operating hours, midnight to
6am.
The contest opened and for the first hour was great until everyone parked on
FT8. I didn't even see any FT4 activity although I checked a few times. Yes this
contest lacked some great openings at least for W3SO, but the thrill of the hunt
is working the pileup or pulling someone out of noise. The lack of SSB and CW
continues. Somehow clicking a mouse button sucks some of the fun right out of it
for myself, W3XOX.
W3SO enjoyed working DO20 on FT8 as well as EN13, EN24, DN70, DN82, DM26, DM78,
and DM93 on SSB.
W3SO hopes to work you all again next year. 73
