Comments:
If it was made within the last 30 years it’s not allowed in this shack. At
least as I ponder this operation that seems to be the case.
Rigs: IC765 + IC751A
Antennas: OCF dipole (for running) in vee config with apex at 35 feet off eve of
house. S&P antenna was put up yesterday and is 40m vee off other end of
house. Used it on 40 and 15 while running on 20.
Computer is 1992 Gateway 486 running NA in DOS. No usb port on computer so have
to transfer log from hard drive to floppy to thumb drive to laptop. LOL.
Highlights: working my bud Todd on 6 bands for SD mult. In figuring what I would
use on 160 to work him I ran a wire to my rain downspout and it worked so well I
worked 8 other guys for an unexpected total on topband of 9 Qs and 7 mults. Who
knew?
Also enjoyed working Danwa with his bug going. Reminded me of good friend
W7LR’s impeccable music on that instrument.
Worked everybody in Montana I think from the Big Sky Contesters group. What an
awesome group that has become.
Even though this was a minimalist setup I had a blast. It’s fun to see what
some low wires and 100 watts can do.
Thanks for the fun.
