Comments:
This was a another fine CQP even if 15 meters never really opened. I really
enjoy operating this contest. It is good 2 radio practice - but not as good when
only one band is open. I do not really have a way to be on phone and CW on the
same band. That would have been useful many times this weekend. This is my
second highest score (before log checking) even without 10 or 15 being open. So
far this year contesting / ham radio has seen an increase in folks on the air.
Since folks are going fewer places and staying closer to home it only makes
sense they would get on the radio. There were a lot of new and casual stations
calling this weekend. But the lack of 15 meters really limited the rate on
Sunday. I made more contacts on 40 and 20 then I have ever made and 80 was
pretty good too. The low bands were fairly quiet and that helped. I do not
think I have ever made it to 1000 contacts so fast before. Great to hear and
work everyone on the radio, stay well and I hope to see you in the next one.
