Could only run rig at 60 watts output as my station 40A switching supply failed
two weeks ago and had to use a 20A linear supply but it would trip when trying
to run rig at 100 watts. Band conditions were pretty good on 40 and 80 so I
just kept going back and forth between those bands. Worked most of my Illinois
county multipliers on 80 as 40 skip was long almost from the start. My wife
helped me lay down and bury new coax feedline to the HF-2V antenna a week ago
and it was a solid performer on 80/40 including getting one DX multiplier on
each band. The 20 meter antenna was actually a 30 meter dipole fed with a
tuner. This was one of my better efforts in this contest and I managed to keep
my BIC for most of it.
