Comments:
Like predicted, ARRL-SSB was hard work at
OH3BCX with 1 kW and a vertical: 3 Q's !!
Today had the history of a string of K = 0's
and thus USA signals were fair. Even got some
new calls. At mid-hour part of Europe condx
collapsed on 14 MHz. Still 14 stations worked
on 7 MHz during the last few minutes.
Got my PTT on the PA working, but the K1EL
memory keyer had drained the battery during
transports, so it was still all paddle-work
with the IC-736. Nights are freezing at -20 C
so the 14 MHz trap and a third of the sloper
wire are firmly buried under ice and snow.
