Comments:
This was strictly an SO1R affair for me with 2nd antenna too close to yagi for
doing SO2R at 100 W (I know because I tried for about 10 minutes at the start
and couldn't hear a thing while CQing on 2nd band). Still, I had fun, which I
suppose is what matters in an ultracompetitive place like San Diego. My hats off
to KI6RRN (NO6T) and N5ZO for easily topping 300k. You guys are mutants!
I did manage to work a bunch of NA DX on the lower bands, which is a testament
to using my tower as a sloper/vertical with elevated radial (not sure which it
is on any given band). It was my first HF contest since CQ WW WPX at KL7RA in
May and I missed it. I need to retire and hire a handyman to do all my house
chores so I can actually get on the air more often.
Thanks to all for the Qs and CU next time.
