Comments:
Big change from the last 2 years. 800 Q's in 2020 and 926 in 2019. i don't
know how long I would have wound up operating but after running 23 Q's my swr
started varying and seemed to climb the longer I was xmitting. I think its due
to the balun getting overheated after several years of using this crappy 160
antenna. Just because the tuner in my amp or the external tuner I used to use
lets me move around a little it does nothing to lower the swr the balun sees.
Hopefully next year I will be using something like an inverted L. This antenna
has great difficulty working dx especially EU. I can usually work KH6 and maybe
a European or two if I call around their sunrise. But the reason I put this
shortened antenna up in the first place was to get on 160 and make a few mults
in the CQWW & ARRL dx tests and it has done its job for that.
